Vaccinators are encouraged to regularly check the Immunisation Handbook on the Health New Zealand website and use the most current available version.

Major updates for this version include: 

• Clarifying eligibility for funded MMR vaccine during a measles outbreak for poeple not typically eligible for funded healthcare in New Zealand
• Update provided byCARM to match the new national pharmacovigilance system
• New wording to clarify Hib-PRP is funded for testing of primary immunodeficiency testing
• Included healthcare workers as eligible for meningococcal vaccineif identified as close contacts of meningococcal cases
• Added monovalent OPV to guidance when OPV was administered overseas since 2016 and updated catch up guidance
• Updated to reflect switch from Normal Immunoglobulin-VF to GamaSTAN as notified by NZ Blood Service
