The Immunisation Advisory Centre is excited to announce the Winter Preparedness Symposium 2026, to be held at the Holiday Inn, Auckland Airport on 3 March 2026.

This one-day event will focus on vaccinations for influenza, COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses prevalent during Aotearoa’s winter season.

The Symposium is now a well-established event on the immunisation professional development calendar and attracts a combined audience of around 300 health professionals. This includes a variety of practitioners and researchers from areas such as public health, occupational health, pharmacy and general practice.

This year’s topics will include:

  • Influenza in the NZ context: patterns of disease and immunisation coverage
  • International influenza vaccination strategies
  • Seasonal influenza vaccines: conventional, enhanced, needle-free and future options
  • Update on the SHIVERS-VI project
  • International updates on COVID-19 and RSV diseases and vaccines
  • Examples of service delivery success

Registrations will open for in-person and online attendance options in January. We will send out further details in our newsletter in the New Year.

For now, we invite you save the date – 3 March 2026 – in your calendars. We look forward to you joining us.
