This course provides a comprehensive introduction to yellow fever vaccination. It is for authorised vaccinators working in approved yellow fever vaccination clinics administering yellow fever vaccination with a prescription.

Note: Pharmacists would need to working in an approved yellow fever vaccination clinic, so this course is not appropriate for those working in normal pharmacy settings.

The course is also designed for as an authorised yellow fever vaccinators update for those who require 3 hours of specific yellow fever CME/CNE to renew their authorisation in accordance with the requirements of the New Zealand Yellow Fever Policy.

Note that completion of this course DOES NOT meet the requirements for initial YF vaccinator authorisation. 

Prerequisites

You are a health professional and have a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

• I am a Medical Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner with prescribing rights OR
• I am a registered nurse or an authorised vaccinator, working in a yellow fever approved centre.

Course modules:

• Yellow fever international regulation and policy
• Yellow fever disease, epidemiology, and risk to travellers
• Yellow fever vaccine and administration
