Registration requirements  

You must:  

  • be a registered midwife or senior midwifery student or registered nurse administering antenatal vaccination.

Course modules:

  • The immune systems of hapū wāhine (pregnant women) and pēpē (baby)
  • Relevant vaccine-preventable diseases and vaccines
  • Vaccine composition and safety
  • Immunisation communication and coverage
  • The cold chain
  • Vaccine administration
  • Hepatitis B and vaccine non-responders
  • Intradermal vaccination technique

Assessment

The assessment is a set of 15 multiple choice questions with 45 minutes to complete.

This event is approved as continuing midwifery education by the Midwifery Council.

The course provides 8 hours of continuing professional development. On completion, you can print out a certificate as evidence of learning.
