Overview

This course is for all vaccinators administering the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine (Comirnaty 30 mcg).

Note: COVID-19 vaccinators working under supervision and vaccinating health workers are not eligible to complete this course.

All vaccinators must complete all course material as part of their vaccinator training and education for the COVID Immunisation programme.

Prerequisites

You are a health professional and have a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC), or a health professional in the process of gaining a current APC.

  • Are an authorised or provisionally authorised vaccinator OR
  • Are undertaking the Provisional Vaccinator pathway and are aware they must complete all the requirements and achieve Provisional Authorisation to give Comirnaty vaccine OR
  • Are a pharmacist (including interns) vaccinator OR
  • Are a registered health professional with prescribing rights.

Course structure

In total, it will take about 4 hours to complete this course. This does not include the optional reading. The duration of this course will depend on your experience and learning style. Parts of the online course are optional (as indicated). You should allocate a minimum of 4 hours, although those with less familiarity around vaccination and/or of online learning tools should be prepared to take longer if necessary. Outside of the course, note that the Immunisation Handbook and clinical advice is always available via our website and IMAC 0800 IMMUNE (0800 466 863).

If you leave the course, when you log back in you will be prompted to resume where you left off.
